Tems, our favorite sub-Saharan African artist, has been crowned as the “cover star” of The Cut’s January 2024 edition. At just 28 years old, Tems has already established herself as one of the top streamed female artists in the region, as her unique genre-blending sound continues to make a significant impact on the New Wave of Afropop artists.
The announcement of her feature on The Cut was met with immense excitement from her fans. Taking to Instagram, Tems shared the news and showcased her impeccable style by posting a series of stunning outfits. Among them was the Faux Fur Trapper Hat from Burberry, which exuded a sense of sexiness that Tems effortlessly pulled off. She was further impressed with her choice of attire, donning an exquisite Lure Bodysuit in the same post.
In another slide, Tems donned a tube-drape dress that exclusively transported me to the moon and back. She also showcased her elegant side in a black velvet bustier dress, exuding an air of sophistication and class.
A lot of accolades to her stylist and photographer as Tems didn’t stop there. She further showcased her fashion finesse by pairing a Leopard Faux Fur Coat with a Black Turtleneck. She accessorized with Keyhole and Pierced Ear Earrings, adding a touch of glamour to her already fabulous ensemble.
Among the various slides that Tems shared, my personal favorite was the last slide where she flaunted her short hairstyle, complemented by shadowy makeup and a sleek black manicure. This look truly highlighted her natural beauty and cemented her undeniable charm.
Tems has undoubtedly earned her place on The Cut, and her growing popularity is a testament to her undeniable talent and unique style. She knows how to command attention and is becoming one of the most sought-after artists in the African music scene. With her infectious energy and genre-defying sound, Tems is destined for even greater heights, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
