Chiic Magazine recently had a very insightful and lively chat with one of Ibadan finest and most prolific OAP’s of all times in the person of Melody Ifeanyi Adigo, popularly called M.I.A. M.I.A is a very youthful, energetic, and talented OAP and hype-lady who currently works with Beat97.9 FM in Ibadan. Even though M.I.A was born and bred in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, she hails from Imo State.
This highly talented young lady who describes herself as a music crackhead and vybes gaddess was among the top five finalists at the Inspiration FM Next Radio Super Star Competition in 2018. Her vibrant personality has won the hearts of many over the past few years. Many refer to her as the female hype-master and we cannot agree less.

What Is Your Biggest Turn Off?
My biggest turn-off has to be people that are not competent. Why are you not competent? Why? You can be competent but you choose not to be competent. Why?
What Is Your Biggest Turn On?
I don’t know. Laughs. I actually don’t know that one. Erm, it’s the energy. Let’s just say energy is the turn-on for me. If the energy is bright, I am just turned on.
Your Biggest Nollywood Crush?
Nollywood crush. Uhm, well, not guys certainly. But girls, I have like 3 girls that I have a crush on. Have you watched King of Boys, if you haven’t, please go and watch it. Now, there was this actress that was a younger version of Sola Shobowale, that’s Toni Tones. How did she get through with the younger Sola Shobowale? No, it’s how she got the acting for me. If you can act that way, you and I are friends, call me.
Then also, I like Zainab Balogun. When Zainab is acting, you can see the character; you are not seeing Zainab Balogun. That is the problem I have with most Nollywood artistes. You will be seeing them. But no, Zainab Balogun is telling you that Latifa left her boyfriend, you will believe it is actually Latifa that left her boyfriend. So I love her.
Then I like Jemima. I don’t know if that is the pronunciation of her name but I will describe her. She is small, she acted in Quam’s Money and she was like the girl that had money that they wanted to take six (6) billion dollars from her company. Yes, that’s the last.
What Is Your Best Style Moment?
Ok, so style; that should be sometime last year. Sometime last year, I had this hype that I was supposed to go for, and it was in Lagos. So I had these black leather pants, it was ….. pants, it was big and I was wearing this see-through crop top also. It was black and black and I was wearing white sneakers, All stars …. and it was beautiful. When I entered the club, it was like badadadabadadada. I just scatter everywhere, cos I entered.
Why Radio?
I didn’t always choose the radio. Radio wasn’t my first choice. My first choice was TV. I started off with TV as far back as 2015. So it was like along the line, you know, trying to find your foot in your carrier and then I just came to this part of the world and I found out that Radio is more popular than TV. So I decided …. that ok, why not go into radio? So I took a stroll into the radio.
Best Relationship Advice You Have Ever Gotten?
Get your own money. Get your own money, come on, ladies, get your own money. It’s good advice. Yes, let your man have his own money too but you should have your own money so that when you want to walk out, you can walk out; if it is a sensible walkout. There are some walkouts that you don’t need to walk out but, you know, get your own money. Don’t kill somebody’s son.
