One tends to blame themselves for either rejection or failure of setting out plans(goals) even when at all cost one has fought and made sacrifices to actualize these set-out goals. The truth is it’s actually inevitable to blame yourself sometimes for the turnout of events because we always think we could have done better. But what if it was not in your power to make that decision? What if you got something wrong somewhere even when you think you’ve perfectly mapped out everything in a way that nothing can fail, but that’s the problem. Did you think failure is inevitable entirely? What truly and genuinely makes a winner is what one makes out of his mistakes. Learn from it and not blame yourself for it.
Follow these tips to help you stop beating yourself up;
1. Never Believe That You Are Not Good Enough
The moment you harbor the thought of not being “enough” or good enough for something you start developing an inferiority complex which in turn kills the morale to get yourself in order and execute whatever it is you wish to. Your body, soul, and spirit instantly agree to mediocrity and rationalizes all possibilities to average and sometimes below.
This of course is a result of listening to people’s judgment a lot and allowing them to rule your ruminative deliberations about life and its circumstances. It is important to note that if you stop beating yourself up for any small thing, you should get used to the fact that failure sometimes is unavoidable but what makes a man truly successful is what he makes do of his failures.
2. No Matter How Many Times You’ve Failed, Pick Yourself Back up And Try Again
Normalize that failure is an unavoidable option in life. No man has ever avoided failure. All great people failed once or twice but greatness is truly achieved when you identify your flaws, set them right, and get back on your feet to try again better and bigger until success is achieved.
Remember “Rome was not built in one day”. Just don’t get yourself in a comfort zone where your failure is a result of your inability to improve on your previous setback. Consistency and persistence with purpose are key.
3. There is Always a Phase, Life is in Phases
In the world we live in today, a lot of people especially the young have decided to skip vital stages in life all in the light of making it early. Now don’t get me wrong. Being successful and rich at your prime is every man’s goal in life. But when you keep jumping some vital steps in life, you might find yourself losing out and then blaming yourself for not being able to do what others are doing. When climbing a ladder you gently and carefully take the steps one at a time so you don’t slip and fall back to step one. If you wish to stop beating yourself up take one step at a time.
4. Optimism is The Future, be Pessimistic For The Now
Live your life as if the future is now. Don’t become too optimistic about something so that when it eventually doesn’t work out as planned you don’t feel disappointed and down. Nonetheless, plan for the future because that’s the right thing to do but live your now like it’s the most important thing.
5. Stop Trying To do Everything
The famous “jack of all trade, master of none” is neither a faux pas nor a misstep in the philosophy of life. People sometimes in the light of trying to do everything end up not being an expert in any. It’s best to discover yourself and know what works for you, so you don’t beat up yourself when all doesn’t. Destiny is real, the purpose is important, and without these things a man is clueless. The truth is that you can’t be good at everything so stop beating yourself up that a particular thing didn’t work, because it might not just be your thing.
