Drinking adequate water will help a lot in supplying the necessary water content to your body. This will enhance the natural cleansing of your eyes.
4. Do not Share Glasses With People Who Have A Sight Defect/Avoid Wearing People’s Recommended Glasses
Many glasses have been created and treated to suit a particular eye defect, they are therefore so sensitive, that picking such a pair of glasses belonging to someone else can impact negatively on your sight. Therefore, avoid sharing people’s pairs of glasses with them.
5. Go For Medical Check-up With An Ophthalmologist
Visit your ophthalmologist as often as you can, especially if you notice a slight difference in your vision, growth around your eyes, or a feeling of discomfort. For instance, glaucoma usually comes with little or no symptoms, therefore, an early visit to the ophthalmologist will help in detecting this eye defect in good time and also help in early treatment before it degenerates.
6. Do Not Look Directly Into Your Computer/Phone
Avoid looking directly into your computer system or phone for a long time. Use a pair of glasses to protect your eyes from having direct long contact with the screen, this could result in blurry vision, teary eyes, neck pain, headaches, etc.
7. Avoid Smoking or Contact With Smoke
Do not smoke and avoid having contact with smoke. Having direct contact with smoke could pose a threat to your good vision. It could lead to the destruction of the optic nerve; it could lead to cataracts and even macular degeneration. Try as much as possible to quit smoking or avoid direct contact with smoke.
8. Avoid Self-Medication
Whenever you have an itching sensation in your eyes, do not opt for any eye drop arbitrarily, visit a clinic nearby and meet with medical personnel who would diagnose the eye reaction and also prescribe the right eye drop or medicine.
